Duckwall-ALCO Stores (DUCK) Reports 3% Increase in SSS for September
Duckwall-ALCO Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq: DUCK) today announced that sales from continuing operations increased 4.0% to $41.7 million for the fiscal five-week period ended October 2, 2011, compared to $40.1 million during the same period of the prior year. On a same-store basis, excluding fuel, sales increased 3.0% from a year earlier.
For the eight months ended October 2, 2011, fiscal year-to-date sales from continuing operations increased 6.0% to $311.4 million, compared to $293.8 million during the same period of the prior fiscal year. On a same-store basis, year-to-date sales excluding fuel increased 4.6% versus a year earlier.
