Kaufman Bros. initiates coverage on Hologic (NASDAQ: HOLX) with a Buy. PT $19.00.

Kaufman analyst says, "We believe the company is levered to a new technology cycle with the February 2011 FDA clearance of its 3D Tomosynthesis system, with early adopters eager to prove out the technology and drive clinical data, offsetting weak capex market trends. In the U.S., where Hologic holds around 60% share of 2D mammography systems, early adopters comprise approximately 500-700 of the currently installed ~5,200 2D systems. Our high-single-to-low-teens breast health revenue growth outlook in F11E-F13E assumes lift from around 600 early adopters."
