Sprint (S) CEO Hesse on AT&T/T-Mobile Deal: Two 'Value Players' Would Have Bigger Advantage

Sprint (NYSE: S) CEO Dan Hesse made comments today about the AT&T (NYSE: T) and T-Mobile deal.

According to some headlines from Dow Jones, Hesse said on the U.S. DoJ's decision:
  • Objections to AT&T/T-Mobile merger specific to that deal;

  • DoJ sending message AT&T needs to show benefits outweigh negatives;

  • DoJ would look at other industry consolidation differently;

  • A deal between two "value players" would have bigger advantage; and

  • DoJ objections not because it wants to keep four carriers
