Auriga maintains a 'Buy' on Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) price target lowered by $2 to $24.
Auriga analyst says, "We maintain our rating, but reduce our price target to $24 for Juniper as our conversations with industry experts following the innovation update suggest that newer product offerings need more work and may take longer to ramp. Given the sheer number of new products/segments in development or production, we tend to agree with Cisco's (Nasdaq: CSCO)(Buy) assertion that JNPR may be stretched somewhat too thin in an uncertain macro environment. But our analysis shows that JNPR can hit the right balance between growth/risk by either scaling back some efforts and/or by bulking up through acquisitions and/or partnerships. Particularly, we see that MobileNext/EPC as one area where success maybe difficult without acquiring more robust management plane software. We also view security and transport/OTN as areas where an acquisition may make sense. We continue to see JNPR as attractively valued for longer term oriented investors, but see limited near-term catalysts unless management takes decisive action to recalibrate its product strategy."
