Deutsche Bank initiates coverage on KiOR, Inc. (NASDAQ: KIOR) with a Buy. PT $20.00.

Deutsche analyst says, "KiOR is a next generation biofuels company pursuing commercialization of its proprietary Biomass Fluid Catalytic Cracking (BFCC) process. The company’s technology is able to convert low cost non-food feedstocks into oil. Unlike several of the other biofuels/chemicals companies public today, KiOR will directly address the fuels market with the first commercial facility. Factoring in Renewable Identification Number (RIN) values (or numbers associated with renewable fuels which refiners are required to purchase), KiOR should be able to garner $3.50-4.50 for Re-Crude product ($2.00-2.50 for fuel and roughly $1.00-2.00 per gallon for RINs) relative to an operating cost in the $2.00-2.25 range. We believe KiOR is currently operating breakeven at $90bl and $4mmbt natural gas excluding any regulatory assumptions and at current yields."
