Labor Union Calls for Split of CEO, Chair Role at Goldman (GS), Draws 'Blankfein' Stare

Goldman Sachs' (NYSE: GS) Lloyd Blankfein can't catch a break. Even with 97 percent of shareholders voting to keep the CEO in the Chairman's seat, there's always that other 3 percent.

Reports in the NY Post Thursday say the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), a Washington labor union, is calling for the separation of the CEO and Chairman role at Goldman, stripping Blankfein of his dual standing.

AFSCME is also a large Goldman shareholder.

This isn't the first time Blankfein has been put on the hot seat, and it probably won't be the last. In 2010, Blankfein received 81 percent of shareholder votes rejecting a similar proposal.
