Janney Montgomery Scott maintains a 'Neutral' on Urban Outfitters, Inc. (NASDAQ: URBN).

JMS analyst says, "We believe quarter-to-date performance is currently on plan with the company's expectations for comp and earnings for 3Q11, and we are maintaining our EPS estimates. Comps at retail stores (excluding DTC) could remain in negative territory for the greater part of the year, with the greatest impact of product improvement coming in 4Q11. Nonetheless, we have a very cautious view of the macro backdrop for the back half of the year, which may make any recovery more challenging... We are projecting a +1% increase in 3Q11 comparable retail segment net > sales (including DTC) and a -2% comparable retail store sales decline (excluding DTC)...We are projecting 3Q11 EPS of $0.39 inline with the Street."

"We continue to expect 2011 to be a year of investment and transition, as the company builds the infrastructure for future growth and works though a shifting fashion backdrop. We remain sidelined on shares until we see inventory levels in check with sales cadence and a stabilization of margin erosion. We continue to believe that in the longer-term URBN is a well-positioned growth story."
