Wedbush initiates coverage on Ameresco (NYSE: AMRC) with a Outperform. PT $17.00.

Wedbush analyst says, "We believe Ameresco is well positioned for growth in its Energy Performance Contracts which are typically structured as budget-neutral projects, followed by a long-term O&M services agreement. Resolution of recompete language for Federal contracts improves visibility and should support reacceleration in this core market, as moneysaving energy efficiency projects financed by outside institutions present an attractive proposition to government agencies (87% of 2010 rev), in our view. We see weakness in the stock on confusion about Federal budget appropriations risk as a buying opportunity, as Ameresco’s ESPC contracts have no appropriations risk because they are financed almost entirely by third party investors."
