Kaufman Bros. initiates coverage on ARRIS Group (NASDAQ: ARRS) with a Buy. PT $12.00.

Kaufman analyst says, "Rating based on an improving 2H11 outlook and on cable's longer term CMAP-related network capex, despite a still negative macro industry backdrop...Positives: Deep cable customer relationships, leading installed base franchise, and a good product development organization...Negatives: Unpredictable competitor in Cisco Systems, a narrow (cable only) customer base, and growing market shift from wireline to wireless broadband...Introducing our non-GAAP EPS and total revenue estimates of $0.22 and $283 million for 3Q11, $0.85 and $1.1 billion for full-year 2011, and $0.98 and $1.2 billion for full-year 2012."
