Shares of American Public Education (Nasdaq: APEI) have tumbled nearly 8 percent Monday following some bearish comments from an analyst at Height Analytics.
The firm suggests the Department of Defense may revise requirements for its Tuition Assistance program over the next several weeks. The Height analyst estimates American Public Education currently obtains a whopping 53 percent of its sales from this Assistance program. Bridgepoint Education (NYSE: BPI) gets the second largest portion of sales from the TA program, however the slice only amounts to about 6 percent of revenue.
Height Analytics believes shares of American Public Education may bounce as the market realizes there will be no negative implications to enrollment following the DoD's change.
