Wedbush downgraded Alere (NYSE: ALR) from Outperform to Neutral, price target lowered from $41 to $31.
Wedbush analyst says, " The company lowered 2011 EPS guidance to between $2.50 and $2.60 from the prior guidance of $2.75...The new guidance range looks aggressive given the 2Q11 degradation in DM and the implied 2H11 acceleration. Moreover, to achieve the guidance, ALR needs to post top-line growth, significant GM improvement, and solid operating leverage all at once which has been rare for the company and looks more difficult amid the challenging US state budget story."
