Kaufman Bros. initiates coverage on Sonus Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: SONS) with a Hold. PT $3.50.

Kaufman analyst says, "We believe that the SONS story has new legs with a revamped management team (including a strong CEO), an aggressive plan for opex discipline, and the NBS-5200 Session Border Control product that will likely challenge the current supplier incumbency among the global carrier base...We also believe that investor sentiment toward this name will remain skeptical until new product acceptance begins to translate into meaningful revenue growth...We are modeling revenues to grow 7% in 2012 to $293.3MM, and EPS of $0.08 vs. our 2011E of $0.03. We are also modeling for operating margin expansion of over 500 bps. in 2012 to 8.5%."
