The happiest place in Hong Kong may get a little less so starting in August.
According to reports, Hong Kong Disneyland, 53 percent owned by Hong Kong and 47 percent owned by Disney (NYSE: DIS), will hike prices on one-day admission fees by 14 percent for adults and children.
One-day admissions for adults will increase to HK$399 (about $51.2) from HK$350, and to HK$285 from HK$250 for children. The price increase will be effective August 1st, though Hong Kong residents have until December 1st to enjoy the current prices.
HK Disneyland said that price increase was due to a combination of inflation and weakening of the Hong Kong dollar. Proceeds will also go toward park expansion.
Disney shares are down 0.6 percent ahead of the bell, though nonfarm payroll numbers may be adding pressure to shares this morning.
