Deutsche Bank made positive comments on Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) following a presentation by CFO Ruth Porat at their FIG Conference.

Ms. Porat highlighted the progress management has made, as well as initiatives that remain to improve profitability and returns to their mid-teen target.

"Bottom line, while the environment is challenging and the stock/sector continue to be weak on macro/reg uncertainty & an investor strike on financials, we think it's priced in, and if/when we get any improvement in macro/reg clarity, we expect upside in the stock. We maintain our Buy rating," Deutsche Bank's analyst said.
