Goldman Sachs downgraded Applied Materials (NASDAQ: AMAT) from Buy to Neutral and cuts their price target from $16 to $14, suggesting 3% downside.

The firm expect Applied to be negatively impacted by their expectation for a 20%
year-over-year decline in 2012 capex as the world’s largest semi equipment company.

Goldman reduced CY11 and CY12 EPS estimates to $1.50/$1.00 from $1.65/$1.55.
