Shares of Vermillion (Nasdaq: VRML) have surged more than 36 percent in mid-day trade following the release of data on its OVA1 blood test which show the test detects ovarian cancer more accurately than the CA 125 method.
The stock last traded at $4.55.
Shares of Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX), which offers the test, did not move much following the data release, however are at session highs. The stock is now up 1.4 percent to $57.80.
