FBR Capital maintains a 'Market Perform' on Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT).

FBR analyst says, "While we are glad to see MSFT stopped being content with the status quo, this acquisition appears to be more of a luxury addition rather than addressing core needs, adds integration risk, doesn't do much to change the secular headwinds the company is facing in its desktop business, and will not move the needle in the near term. We maintain our Market Perform rating, as we believe Microsoft is experiencing secular headwinds that we don't see diminishing. Specifically we (1) remain skeptical about a strong enterprise PC refresh cycle, (2) believe the emergence of tablets will adversely affect the company's core desktop franchise, and (3) are not convinced the last legitimate effort to become a meaningful player in the vital mobile market is panning out."
