FBR Capital maintains a 'Market Perform' on Unum Group (NYSE: UNM), PT increased from $27 to $30.
FBR analyst says, "Unum Group reported 1Q11 operating EPS of $0.69 versus the $0.69 FBR and $0.70 consensus estimates. Operating results were broadly in line with our forecast. While the second quarter in a row of somewhat elevated losses in the Colonial segment is not ideal, overall earnings are stable and excess capital management deployment is proceeding as planned. We remain on the sidelines given our general preference for less payroll-exposed life insurance peers. Our 2011E EPS of $2.95 is unchanged, as well as keeping our 2012E EPS at $3.35."
