Ticonderoga maintains a 'Neutral' on Charles Schwab Corp. (NYSE: SCHW).

Ticonderoga analyst says, "SCHW reported EPS of $0.20, $0.02 ahead of our estimate on slightly better revenue and lower non-compensation costs. This was SCHW’s best quarter in some time. Pre-tax margin increased to 32.6% and equity capital increased by $300 million bringing down asset leverage for the first time since Q4 2008 (if you exclude equity raise in Q1 2010)...Activity Metrics Improved For The Quarter. Average trades were up 19% seq. but did slow in March to 433.7 thousand, down 9% from February. Client asset flows were largely in line with positive $8.8 billion for the month and positive $23 billion for the quarter...Overall, pretty clean result and we expect it to be viewed favorably. We believe SCHW has the most leverage to rising rates of any name we cover. Key is calling the beginning of the cycle.
