Ticonderoga maintains a 'Neutral' on Nam Tai Electronics (NYSE: NTE).
Ticonderoga analyst says, "This morning, Nam Tai Electronics announced that the situation in Japan will negatively impact the company's business starting in 2Q11 and continue through the end of 2011 based on management's current assessment of the situation. We are not surprised by Nam Tai's challenges in Japan, as we have highlighted in previous reports that the company was one of the most at risk to the situation in Japan in our coverage universe given the company's high exposure to Japan-based OEMs, combined with concentration in consumer electronics. While we believe Nam Tai is at one end of the extreme given this high exposure, we believe others in the tech supply chain and OEM world will be challenged by the situation in Japan. In previous reports, we have also highlighted Flextronics (Nasdaq: FLEX)(Sell-rated), Molex (Nasdaq: MOLX)(Neutral) and our LCD coverage universe as potentially susceptible to the situation in Japan due to above-average exposure to consumer electronics-oriented programs that we believe will be more susceptible to the situation in Japan."
