Goldman Sachs made comments on small and mid-cap enterprise data networking companies Thursday after transferring coverage to new analyst Kent Schofield.
With the new coverage, the firm reiterated a Buy rating on Aruba Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARUN) and a Sell on F5 Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: FFIV).
On Aruba Networks, Schofield said it "stands to benefit as enterprises are in the beginning stages of ubiquitous WLAN deployments." The company has a tremendous upgrade opportunity, with an estimated 60% of installed access points utilizing legacy technology. The firm reiterated a Buy and upped its price target from $34 to $39.
Regarding F5 Networks, the analyst said "expectations exceed F5's growth potential in the Application Delivery Controller (ADC) market but recognize recent share weakness as beginning to rein in expectations." The firm reiterated a $91 price target.
Other transferred ratings include Brocade (Nasdaq: BRCD) (Neutral, $6.25 tgt), Netgear (Nasdaq: NTGR) (Neutral, $35 tgt) and Riverbed (Nasdaq: RVBD) (Neutral, $43 tgt).
