Creating the chips that power the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone and iPad, ARM Holdings PLC (NASDAQ: ARMH) stirred rumors of being a takeover target, kicking shares up more than 150 percent over the last year.

Speculation has abounded that Apple, Oracle Corp. (NASDAQ: ORCL) and Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC) could be possible partners in a takeover deal.

However one London based analyst sees the time having passed to make a deal happen as the stock is just to high now.

“If anyone was interested in buying ARM, why would they have waited, when you could have had it” cheaper a while ago, Paul Morland, an analyst at Peel Hunt in London.

“ARM has done better than people expected, but not 10 times better. The bulls on it are looking out 10 years to the growth of mobile devices.”

Shares of ARM are down 7.51 percent to $25.49 in midday market movement on Thursday.
