Receders
- Guggenheim Solar (NYSE: TAN) up 0.94% to $7.52. Led by JA Solar (Nasdaq: JASO) today, which is seeing some strong movement above the $7.00 price level, and First Solar (Nasdaq: FSLR), who appointed Mike Ahearn to Chairman and James Zhu as Chief Financial Officer yesterday.

- SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE: SPY) up 0.38% to $125.03. Markets higher today as economic data showed strong small business optimism, a winning retail sales number, lower inventories, and a jump in the PPI. The FOMC rate decision this afternoon is expected to produce no change.
Receders
- United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) down 1.65% to $5.95. Hitting a new 52-week low of $5.95 today, the nat gas ETF is lower today as traders look beyond the current cold front moving through much of the Midwestern and Eastern U.S., as forecasts call for more milder temps over the Christmas holiday weekend.
- SPDR S&P Retail (NYSE: XRT) down 0.15% to $47.38. Netflix, Inc. (Nasdaq: NFLX) is leading the ETF lower today, on a combination of profit taking by investors, conflict with executives, and bears awaking from hibernation. Additionally, retail sales increased 0.8% in November, edging out the consensus of 0.6%, but down from a 1.2% increase in October.
- iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (NYSE: VXX) down 0.21% to $38.61. A little hemming and hawing from this one today, but overall in the red as markets holding their upward momentum. The CBOE Near-Term volatility index is down a mere 0.23% today.
