Shares of Las Vegas Sands. (NYSE: LVS) are down 53 cents or 1.29 percent to $40.47 in midday market movement on Wednesday, ahead of the company's third-quarter results scheduled to be released after the closing bell.
The company is expected by analysts to report third-quarter earnings of 23 cents per share on sales of $1.79 billion.
Las Vegas Sands reported second-quarter earnings of 17 cents per share, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of 9 cents per share. Third-quarter revenue for the company was $1.59 billion, compared to the Street's view of $1,61 billion.
Since the start of the third quarter shares of the company are up $15.09 or 59.69 percent. Year-to-date the stock has risen $25.43 or 170.21 percent.
Data from Bloomberg shows that 16 analysts have a Buy rating on Las Vegas Sands, 8 have Hold and 2 have a Sell. The average analyst price target of $35 with a target range of $19 to $46.

Deutsche Bank maintains a Buy rating on Las Vegas Sands with a price target of $39. The firm sees the company's Q3 results the most anticipated in the sector.
Deutsche Bank analyst says, "Las Vegas Sands is probably the most anticipated earnings report in the Gaming space this season given the stock’s outperformance YTD (up 160%) and some of the recent strength seen in its two growth markets, Singapore and Macau. We anticipate a strong report that will exceed street expectations."
The analyst see the margins in Singapore as the most important aspect of the release.
Goldman Sachs sees strong Q3 results from Las Vegas Sands being driven by Singapore an Macau. The firm has a Neutral rating on the company.
Goldman Sachs analyst says, "In Macau, we forecast Macau property EBITDA (Macau properties comprise Sands Macau, Venetian Macau and Four Seasons Macau) of $309 million (vs. $235 million in 3Q09 and $300 mn in 2Q10). In Singapore, we are forecasting revenues for Marina Bay Sands of $455 million and property EBITDA of $199 million."
Hudson Securities reiterates its Buy rating on Las Vegas Sands with a $46 price target, saying that the company is the best play for the explosion in gaming in Asia.
Hudson analyst says, "We remain comfortable with that move and we continue to believe that LVS is the best way to play the explosive growth of gaming in Asia. Moreover, given LVS’s success in Macau and Singapore, we believe they are well positioned to benefit from any major new jurisdictions that may introduce gaming in the future."
