RailAmerica, Inc. (NYSE: RA) reported that its total freight carloads for the month ended September 30, 2010 were 72,833, up 8.0% from 67,410 in September 2009. These results include the Ottawa Valley Railway (OVRR) operation.
The Company had increased shipments in September 2010 in eight out of twelve commodity groups compared to September 2009. Much of the increase was due to shipments of Metallic Ores and Metals, Chemicals and Coal.
