For-Profit Schools Cant't Get Out of the Dog House

For-profit colleges are weak again today as Senator Durbin hosted a forum today on the sector.
Durbin had harsh words for the for-profit schools, saying Congress must curb them. He is proposing that for-profit colleges bear some risk, noting they get 25% of all Federal Financial aid.
He said some of these colleges leave students poorly trained.
Durbin is proposing more complete disclosure on costs, accreditation.
The sector has been under pressure time, related to issues with poor student loan repayments among other things.

Apollo Group Inc. (Nasdaq: APOL) down 1.7 percent
Strayer Education Inc. (Nasdaq: STRA) down 7 percent
Corinthian Colleges (Nasdaq: COCO) down 5 percent
ITT Educational Services Inc. (NYSE: ESI) down 2 percent
Capella Education Co. (Nasdaq: CPLA) down 4 percent
DeVry, Inc. (NYSE: DV) down 3 percent
Bridgepoint Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) down 1 percent
Grand Canyon Education, Inc. (Nasdaq: LOPE) down 2 percent
