Former Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) CEO Mark Hurd, who resigned after a recent sex scandal, has filed to sell about $30 million worth of his HPQ stock, according to a report from Bloomberg which cited the Washington Service.

The filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission shows that Hurd planned on selling through Merrill Lynch & Co. on August 23, 2010. The closing share price of HPQ on that day was $39.04, making the transaction worth $30,256,000, less any expenses, fees, and taxes.

Hurd resigned from the company on August 6, 2010, and was granted a severance package to exercise options to acquire 775,000 shares of common stock by September 7, 2010. It isn't clear what date and for what price the options were exercised.

The transaction was filed on a Form 144 at the U.S. SECs headquarters in Washington, and cannot be researched on the agency's EDGAR system.

HPQ shares are trading 0.68% higher today, to $38.50 per share.
