Notable ETF Movers of the Day 08/03: FXE, USO, XLV Higher; FXI, XRT, IYR Lower

- CurrencyShares Euro Trust (NYSE: FXE) up 0.48% to $131.89. Though economic data today showed flat personal income and spending, factory orders came in worse than expected, dropping 1.2% to the Street consensus of (0.5%). Investors are also weighing whether or not reports of the Fed pumping more money into the system are true, which would weaken the dollar versus other currencies.
- United States Oil (NYSE: USO) up 1.18% to $36.89. Oil is keeping its breakout above $80 today amid mixed economic data. The market seems to be focusing more globally now, instead of reacting to every bit of U.S. economic information. Growth in the BRIC nations, as well as stabilization in the Euro zone, are emerging as important factors to oil demand. September contracts are trading at $82.32, from a $78.95 close last Friday.
- Health Care Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLV) up 1.13% to $29.44. Higher today, boosted by Pfizer's (NYSE: PFE), which reported a second quarter EPS of $0.62, topping views by ten cents. Revs of $17.3 billion also exceeded expectations for $16.65 billion. Shares of Pfizer are up 5% in the early afternoon session.

- iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index (NYSE: FXI) down 0.9% to $42.01. Chinese indices were coming off two-and-a-half month highs as investors took some profit and grew weary that economic growth may be slowing, following Monday's PMI numbers in China, which fell from 52.1 in June to 51.2 in July.
- SPDR S&P Retail (NYSE: XRT) down 2.13% to $38.14. Lower today as some retailers failed to live up to Street expectations for their second quarter. OfficeMax (NYSE: OMX) reported a Q2 EPS of $0.12 beating the analyst consensus of $0.11. Revs of $1.65 billion fell short of expectations for $1.67 billion. The company guided Q3 and FY10 sales lower, possibly setting up concern for investors. Additionally, Coach (NYSE: COH) reported an EPS of $0.64, but the additional week in the quarter added $0.08, so excluding that they earned $0.56, which was in-line with consensus expectations. Comps in North America grew 6.3% and double-digits in China.
- iShares Dow Jones US Real Estate (NYSE: IYR) down 0.40% to $53.02. Down although June pending home sales came in down 2.6% today, which beat consensus expectations of a 5% drop, and was certainly better than the 29.9% drop in May.
