Wall Street Hubbub 7/30: A Chinese Buffett, RIM's New BlackPad, MGM & RMBS In the Rumor Mill

Rumors swirl on Wall Street daily. Below is a list of some top things being talked about on trading desks today:

  • Former Tiananmen Square protester Li Lu is said to be a leading candidate to replace investment legend Warren Buffett at Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-a) (NYSE: BRK-b), according to reports from the Wall Street Journal.

  • RIM (Nasdaq: RIMM) will introduce a tablet computer to compete with Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPad, named BlackPad. The launch is expected in November.

  • More takeover chatter surrounding gaming company MGM Resorts (NYSE: MGM). Earlier in the week it was rumored that Kirk Kerkorian was interested in taking the company private. Today there are rumors he would be open to selling his 37% stake.

  • Facebook will likely push off its IPO until 2012 so it can focus on growth, Bloomberg reported.

  • Chatter on Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq: RMBS) - litigation and takeover talk... what else?
