AIG (AIG) Rips Higher; Unthinkable Thought Of Paying Back the U.S. Becoming a Reality?

Shares of AIG (NYSE: AIG) are ripping higher today on positive technicals and recent positive news about asset sales.
Today, shares blew through the 200 day SMA of $30.48, now trading up 16.8% to $33.98.
Traders and investor are also pleased with the massive asset sales over the past week or so, which will allow the company to payback a significant chuck of its federal borrowings.
With this sale of ALICO to MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) this week and the sale of AIA to Prudential plc last week, AIG will generate approximately $50.7 billion from these two transactions alone.
It is also being realized by the market that AIG assets are becoming more valuable.
All in AIG owes the U.S. government $95 billion. Can AIG payback the entire amount it borrowed from the government? The unthinkable is now looking more and more like a possibility. Speculators are taking notice.
