Airline Stocks Lower On Austin Crash and Diverted UAL Flight (UAUA, DAL, CAL, AMR, FAA)
On a day where at least two major airplane stories have broken out, shares in the sector are lower today, mostly making a move after the news had broken about the incidents.
A small aircraft crashed into the side of an office building in Austin, TX, at 10 a.m. CST this morning. The building was said to house an IRS office, and F/16 fighter planes were scrambled on the news. One person is still unaccounted for.
In Utah, United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAUA) Flight 741 was diverted to land after a bomb threat was noticed. The 193 passengers and six crew remain on board as the airplane is being searched.
