Cypress Solutions (CY): A Nice Apple (AAPL) Shadow Play - Cramer

February 1, 2010 3:06 PM EST
Cypress Solutions (NYSE: CY) may be a great shadow play on Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) new iPad tablet device, Jim Cramer believes.

Because of the mainstream familiarity with touch-enabled devices that Apple basically began, Cypress may be set to benefit as the technology makes its way into other non-Apple areas.

Cypress' President and CEO T.J. Rodgers said that, although Apple manufacturers their own chips, with the introduction of a new device means that others want to pack their product with the same ability.

But Cypress isn't a one-trick pony. The company is also seeing profitable expanses in their programmable chip sector. This allows that company to not only sell the hardware, but also the software programming, allowing for another stream of revenue.

Rodgers said, about the economy, that a company can only compete with China by having fewer, more educated workers. Cypress has reduced its workforce by 20% but maintains its efficiency.
