This morning's downside in shares of AIG (NYSE: AIG) has intensified in the last few minutes of trading as the stock has now broken below the $32 level for the first time since the end of August.

After gapping about 2% lower on the back of a Bernstein price target reduction, shares of AIG began sinking sharply following the stocks move under and retest of the $32 psychological barrier. Since this price action, the stock has fallen another 7% and is now trading around $30.18.

Volume in the stock is heavy: it has already traded hands nearly 15 million times, which compares to the stock's 30-day average volume of about 21 million shares.

Today's decline marks the fourth day in a row that shares of AIG have moved lower.
