Heartland Payment (HPY) Reports Q2 Adj-EPS of $0.25, Beats by 1c; Declares Qtr. Dividend of $0.01; Guides FY09

Heartland Payment Systems, Inc. (NYSE: HPY) reports Q2 EPS of $0.25, ex-items, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.24. Revenue for the quarter was $417.37 million, versus the consensus of $409.60 million.

Same store sales rose 9.7% during the quarter.

The Company declared a third quarter dividend of $0.01 per common share, payable to shareholders of record on August 25, 2009 and will be paid on September 15, 2009.

Sees FY09 sales of $420-$425 million, versus the consensus of $1.65 billion. EPS for the year are expected to be in the range of $0.85-$0.90, which compares the Street estimate of $0.94.
