Moragan Stanley (NYSE: MS) told CNBC it will be on the list of the first banks approved to payback TARP.
Moragan Stanley was one of 10 banks required by the government to boost their capital buffer, as a result of the stress tests, but Morgan has successfully raised over $10 billion since then. This is more than enough to cover the $1.8 billion capital buffer requirement. Morgan Stanley received about $10 billion in TARP funds.
