Cramer denied a Lightning Round caller a Buy recommendation on DryShips (Nasdaq: DRYS) during last night's Mad Money, saying the entire shipping sector is "very hard to recommend". Cramer said he previously recommended the sector, but basically got lucky and said he is no longer willing to stick his neck out on dry bulkers such as DryShips.

Shares of DryShips have been extremely volatile recently, swinging from under $4 at the beginning of December to over $15 by mid-January. The stock is trading about 7% higher today, most recently trading at $12.10.

Elsewhere in the sector:
  • Diana Shipping (NYSE: DSX) - up 7.3%
  • Safe Bulkers (NYSE: SB) - up 5.4%
  • Teekay (NYSE: TK) - up 8.6%
  • Genco Shipping (NYSE: GNK) - up 7%
