Dry Bulk Shippers Should Move Up Today--DryShips, Diana Shipping, Star Bulk Carriers (DRYS, DSX, SBLK)

Today, Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd (NYSE: EXM) agreed to acquire Quintana Maritime Limited (Nasdaq: QMAR). The buyout of Quintana Maritime, should provide a much needed boost to the stock prices of DryShips (Nasdaq: DRYS), Diana Shipping (NYSE: DSX) and Star Bulk Carriers (Nasdaq: SBLK).

All these stocks have fallen significantly from their 52-week highs. For example, Diana Shipping is currently trading at $25, while its 52-week high is $45.15 and DryShips is at $60 and its 52-week high is $131.34.

DryShips Inc. owns and operates drybulk carriers that operate worldwide.
