According to reports from Bloomberg, Neumann Homes will file for bankruptcy protection, making it the second-largest homebuilder to seek Chapter 11 protection.
The report said Neumann was the Chicago-area\'s forth-largest builder.
The company blamed the declining housing markets in its largest areas of focus - Detroit, Chicago and Denver.
Public homebuilding stocks: Lennar (NYSE: LEN), Beazer\'s (NYSE: BZH), KB Home (NYSE: KBH), Pulte Homes (NYSE: PHM), D.R. Horton (NYSE: DHI), Hovnanian Enterprises Inc. (NYSE: HOV), Standard Pacific Corp. (NYSE: SPF), Toll Brothers Inc. (NYSE: TOL), NVR Inc. (NYSE: NVR), Centex Corporation (NYSE: CTX).
