Canaccord analyst Whitney Ijem reiterated a Buy rating and $180.00 price target on Neurogene (NASDAQ: NGNE).
The analyst commented: "This morning NGNE shared longer follow-up data from its Phase 1/2 study of NGN-401 for Rett Syndrome (presentation here, slides here). 43 total predefined Embolden developmental milestones were gained across 10 pts, for an avg of 4.3 milestones/patient. And 8/10 pts gained a milestone 12mo for a 80% response rate. Though the remaining two pts achieved their respective first milestone at 15 and 18mo so a 100% response rate was reached as of the June 16, 2026 cutoff date. As a reminder, Taysha Gene Therapies (TSHA : NASDAQ : $6.64 | BUY) had recently shared an avg of 2.2 milestones gained per pt with a 100% (12/12) response rate at 12mo. Based on available data and our previous KOL call (see takeaways here), we continue to believe that (1) there is no clear winner between the two, (3) both pivotal trials are high probability, and (3) Rett is a large rare disease with enough room, and potential significant upside, for both. We currently assign TSHA 60% peak share and NGNE 40%."
