Canaccord Reiterates Buy Rating on Artivion Inc. (AORT)

Canaccord analyst William Plovanic reiterated a Buy rating and $36.00 price target on Artivion Inc. (NYSE: AORT).

The analyst commented: "This morning, Artivion announced that its AMDS Hybrid Prosthesis received FDA premarket approval. The approval supports marketing for acute Debakey Type I aortic dissections with either clinical or radiographic malperfusion. Artivion estimates that this indication represents 60% of all Debakey Type I aortic dissection, which impacts ~6,000 U.S. patients annually, and is an emergent, life-threatening, surgery-requiring condition. Additionally, the approval also broadens AMDS’ label from the Humanitarian Device Exemption (“HDE” -see more below); previously, under the HDE, AMDS was only indicated for clinical malperfusion, which occurred in ~40% of Debakey Type I aortic dissections, but now, including radiographic malperfusion increases the marketable opportunity to ~60% of cases. AMDS is the first aortic arch remodeling device for the condition and is used complementary to typical aortic hemiarch replacement. AMDS has been clinically shown to significantly reduce DANE tears incidence per the PRESERVE U.S. IDE trial. AMDS was previously supported by HDE, allowing Artivion to sell AMDS to hospitals under certain parameters. These parameters, such as IRB approval, are now removed, and we believe their removal will reduce friction around opening new AMDS accounts and utilization, thus increasing AMDS’ adoption. We highlighted this topic in our management NDR note (see our note here). Management believes (and we agree) it positions the company to accelerate penetration of the ~$150M U.S. market opportunity. We model AMDS FY26E and FY27E U.S. revenues of $30.0M and $43.8M."
