Evercore ISI analyst Robert Ottenstein lowered the price target on Olaplex Inc (NASDAQ: OLPX) to $2.50 (from $4.00) while maintaining a In Line rating.
The analyst commented, "4Q was broadly in line, page 2. Olaplex’s top-line is stabilizing, but a key debate centers on the cost of this stabilization, as reinvestment in marketing and building an organization from the ground up are expected to pressure margins for at least another two quarters. Timing/ noise at retail and the sequencing of this spending render a back-end-loaded 2026. More strategically, the bigger question is whether Olaplex has the scale to compete profitably. Haircare remains one of beauty’s most dynamic categories ─growing double-digits globally according to L’Oréal, and up 6% in U.S. tracked channels─ while management’s (2)%-to-3% target implies continued share losses in 2026. That said, there may be conservatism embedded in the guide, considering that Olaplex retail sales in the U.S. has improved +4% through late February."
