UBS analyst Peter Grom reiterated a Neutral rating and $23.00 price target on The Simply Goods Group (NASDAQ: SMPL).
The analyst commented, "SMPL reported a 1QFY26 EPS beat driven by better-than-expected top line growth and lower SG&A. As expected, the company reiterated their outlook for the year, which continues to embed a meaningful improvement on both the top and bottom line in the back half of the year. With shares having underperformed heading into the print, we think the bar was relatively low and as such we were not surprised to see the stock trade higher this morning especially given the more constructive stance on buybacks as well as continued optimism around the back half of the year/looking out to FY27. As has been the case for some time, we think the investment case will largely hinge on whether the implied inflection on the top line will prove to be feasible amidst an uncertain/volatile/competitive backdrop for the industry. Valuation remains compelling on both an absolute and relative basis and while we would not be surprised to see sentiment improve somewhat following a better-than-expected start to the year, we think greater visibility that the 2H improvement is taking shape will be needed for the stock to meaningfully re-rate higher."
