H.C. Wainwright analyst Emily Bodnar raised the price target on vTv Therapeutics (NASDAQ: VTVT) to $47.00 (from $36.00) while maintaining a Buy rating.

The analyst commented: "Yesterday after market close, vTv announced the submission of a Phase 2 trial protocol evaluating cadisegliatin (cadi) in patients with insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes (T2D) to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Department of Health. The submission was executed in collaboration with Emirati partner M42's (private) Insights Research Organization and Solutions (IROS), a UAE-based CRO formed by health tech group G42 Healthcare (private). The 12-month randomized study will enroll ~300 insulin-dependent T2D patients across the UAE, Jordan, and Tunisia, and evaluate two QD cadi doses of 400 mg or 800 mg vs placebo, with patient enrollment expected to begin in 1Q26. Notably, this represents the longest trial duration for cadi to date, which could provide more robust safety and efficacy data than earlier 6-month studies. While enrollment criteria and endpoints were not disclosed, we anticipate that they will reflect the Phase 2b AGATA trial evaluating cadi in T2D, which had a primary endpoint of change from baseline (CFB) in HbA1c. The collaboration structure with M42's IROS is financially advantageous for vTv, as M42 is funding the study while vTv maintains regulatory sponsorship, effectively enabling pipeline advancement with limited use of the capital needed to advance the Phase 3 CATT1 trial in T1D. The geographic focus on Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) markets is strategic, in our view, given the high prevalence of T2D in the UAE and surrounding countries with ~85M patients and 17.6% regional prevalence as of 2024 (International Diabetes Federation, 2025). This creates new potential commercial opportunities for cadi beyond the US/EU, if the trial is positive, and could support future US-based T2D trials, by generating a more robust T2D dataset. We are pleased to see vTv executing its T2D cadi strategy as the company had guided to the MENA trial's initiation in 2025. If approved, vTv is eligible for high single-digit royalties on cadi sales. We currently view T2D as potential upside in our model and price target, which we have increased to $47 on increased long-term conviction for cadi in T1D."
