Mizuho analyst Nitin Kumar lowered the price target on Matador Resources Company (NYSE: MTDR) to $67.00 (from $69.00) while maintaining a Outperform rating.
The analyst commented: "Our 3Q25 cash flow/EBITDX forecasts are broadly in line with consensus. We expect a key focus will be on MTDR's soft 2026 guidance as investors look for MTDR to position for some level of volume growth following modest activity cuts earlier this year (we model ~5% YoY oil growth next year, modestly above consensus but for similar capex). We also look for incremental updates/commentary around the potential monetization of MTDR's midstream business as it continues to explore ways to demonstrate the value of those assets. M&A will also likely be in focus, with investors looking for color on MTDR's outlook for further "brick-by-brick" opportunities as well as larger-scale Permian consolidation. MTDR shares have lagged recently and now trade in line with peers on FCF/EV - attractive in our view given its differentiated oil growth and attractive inventory quality. Trim PT to $67 ($69); maintain Outperform."
