Keefe, Bruyette & Woods analyst Meyer Shields raised the price target on The Hanover Insurance Group (NYSE: THG) to $190.00 (from $188.00) while maintaining a Outperform rating.
The analyst comments "We maintain our Outperform rating on THG’s shares and raise our target price to $190 (11.5x our 2026E EPS) from $188 following its 2Q25 earnings report and conference call. We raise our 2025E/2026E EPS to $17.00/$16.50 from $15.50/$16.35 and initiate 2027E EPS of $17.25, incorporating the 2Q25 outperformance to our estimates and assuming faster NII growth and lower core loss and catastrophe loss ratios and bigger reserve releases, partly offset by slower premium growth. We think the current valuation underappreciates THG’s personal lines margin improvement prospects and the ongoing margin-expanding rate increases within its (small and middle market-focused) Core Commercial and Specialty segments."
