BMO Capital analyst James Thalacker raised the price target on Alliant Energy (NASDAQ: LNT) to $60.00 (from $58.00) while maintaining a Market Perform rating.
The analyst commented, "LNT's 2Q24 EPS of $0.57 missed our own/consensus estimates of $0.67/$0.64. However, the primary difference was the timing of income tax expense, which is expected to balance out over 2H24. Although weather YTD been a $0.10 headwind, the company reaffirmed its 2024 EPS guidance range of $2.99-$3.13 vs. our/consensus estimate of $3.06. Focus for the story now turns to its November update on load growth, load timing, and resources/CapEx to support this growth. We remain Market Perform. Our target price moves to $60 as we mark-to-market our group multiples."
