Needham & Company analyst Quinn Bolton reiterated a Buy rating and $80.00 price target on Vicor Corporation (NASDAQ: VICR) after attending the virtual annual shareholder meeting. No near-term financial update was provided at the meeting but the company continues to expect new 48V design wins with its GPU and hyperscale customers in 2H20 and 2021.

The analyst stated "we believe the company is likely to report an improvement in its 2Q20 bookings and its 2H20 visibility on its 2Q20 earnings call, which is targeted for Thursday, July 23rd". "Vicor has a 9x advantage in power density compared to its competitors' solutions, and a point-of-load current density advantage at ~2.0 Amps/mm2 compared to the competition's 0.6 Amps/mm2. These advantages make Vicor's solutions the highest performance solutions available in the PDN market for AI accelerators. As expected, Vicor is not shipping in NVIDIA's PCIe A100 cards as these are 12V cards, but Vicor continues to believe the industry will eventually turn to 48V PCIe cards".
