J.C. Penney (JCP) Misses Q1 EPS by 8c, Comps Decline 5.5%

J.C. Penney (NYSE: JCP) reported Q1 EPS of ($0.46), $0.08 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.38). Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.44 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.56 billion.

Comparable sales decreased 5.5 % for the first quarter.

Outlook

The Company currently expects free cash flow1 to be positive for fiscal year 2019.
