FreightCar America (RAIL) Misses Q2 EPS by 47c

FreightCar America (NASDAQ: RAIL) reported Q2 EPS of ($0.04), $0.47 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.43. Revenue for the quarter came in at $126.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $163.43 million.

Over the next 12 months, the Company expects to reduce its annual operating costs by approximately $5 million by implementing the following:

• 15% reduction of the Company’s salaried workforce
• Closure of the Johnstown administrative office
• Reduction of certain discretionary spending
