Internet Backbone Stocks on Watch Following $2B Private Deal

There was a big off-Wall Street merger today in the internet backbone space that players on Wall Street should be paying attention to.

Boston-based private equity firm Berkshire Partners agreed to acquire both Lightower Fiber Networks and Sidera Networks in a transaction valued at over $2 billion.

The news could have implications for the following companies:

TW Telecom (Nasdaq: TWTC)
Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX)
CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL)
